Must the church interfere? Is the reproductive health bill worthy of such notice?

The reason theyre against it because of $$$$$$...

if RH bill will be approved, RC income will be affected.

RC Church = Business... open your eyes and see.. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Taas na kaayo ang debate sa RH bill or House Bill 5043 (Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2008). Ug kini wala nagkinahanglan ug proof.

I don't think CBCP or the whole Catholic church ever think of income - nga mogamay ang kita.

The Church should  not be too traditional of their doctrines.

The reproductive bill is pro life in all its sense. Unplanned pregnancies often result to or even aggravates severe circumstances.

Sorry for all church goers if i'd say that what you believed to be correct and true within the confines of the church is not always what it seems to be.

They refuse to present reasons or answer questions because doctrines don't need reasons. This is what the church leaders fail. They fail to teach their faithfuls the doctrines of th church despite of the fact that there are many catholic schools in the country.

Does it imply that according to your understanding, RH bill will discourage or prevent you to have 'liwat'? I wish to emphasize that RH bill is NOT about population control. It's NOT just about contraceptives.

Here's what Edcel Lagman told us about the bill:
Quote
The reproductive health (RH) bill promotes information on and access to both natural and modern family planning methods, which are medically safe and legally permissible. The bill does not have any bias for or against either natural or modern family planning. Both modes are contraceptive methods. Their common purpose is to prevent unwanted pregnancies. The bill will promote sustainable human development.

Here's the coverage of Reproductive Health bill.

Quote
Coverage of Reproductive Health:

   1. Information and access to natural and modern family planning
   2. Maternal, infant and child health and nutrition
   3. Promotion of breast feeding
   4. Prevention of abortion and management of post-abortion complications
   5. Adolescent and youth health
   6. Prevention and management of reproductive tract infections, HIV/AIDS and STDs
   7. Elimination of violence against women
   8. Counseling on sexuality and sexual and reproductive health
   9. Treatment of breast and reproductive tract cancers
  10. Male involvement and participation in Reproductive Health
  11. Prevention and treatment of infertility, and
  12. Reproductive Health education for the youth.

Smiley

Why do you say so?

I read about the debate on this bill. The debate usually tackles on contraceptives.

The RCC was in berserk about this because it is not a natural family planning.. kuno...

We already knew RCC's way are not effective in our country and the main cause of OVER-POPULATION.

I read the full text of Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2008 and I haven't notice any provision that say limiting children among couple that's why I AM CONFIDENT to say that "WALA man mopugong bisan kinsa manganak bisan pag duha ka dosena" otherwise if there is SUCH provision, the bill could be scrapped for constitutional issues.

You are correct, the bill is also about contraceptives. Notice that I thread in the coverage of RH bill which includes, Information and access to natural and modern family planning. So this must also be about contraceptives. But it doesn't have any provision that forces anyone to use specific method. In fact, the bill does not have any bias for or against either natural or modern family planning.

It is TOO safe for me to conclude that walay labot ang RH bill sa pag-control sa population. unless there is something I missed in full text of RH bill?

When I write about this in my blog, someone even implied in his comments that condoms are 'given away like candies' and people become too horny and will have sex like animals. Isn't it hilarious? People just comment obviously without a careful study of both sides. Perhaps people believe on hearsay more that what is really written in the bill.
