Voters? - YES and NO. Massive education drive is yet to come. I mean, it should reach to grassroots level.
COMELEC? - Possible but they are doing their best I think.
Actually nothing has much changed. Except dili na isulat ang name sa botohan kay i-shade, ug ang PCOS na ang mo-count sa vote, then i-transmit siya electronically.

Yes, karon. Sa May 2010 election, automated na ang counting and transmission of votes. So meaning, instead nga isulat ang name sa botaran, i-shade na lang ang lingin tapad sa ngalan sa kandidato. (kung sa Tagalog pa, itiman ang bilog na hugis itlog)
Dayon ipakaon ang ballot sa PCOS (Precinct Count Optical Scan machine), unya pagkahuman sa voting hours, pindot pindot lang ang BEI (Board of Election Inspectos) then ma-total na dayon ang votes. another pindot, ma-send na ang results sa usa ka precinct to town canvass center.

Just like in the US.. there are some states that are not using automated system because they are not ready for it.

Speaking of not ready. Actually ready naman kung ipalutaw ang assumption nga "everything goes as expected" pero in very phenomenon, naa man gyod na alternative scenario. Now this reminds me of a case sa ARMM elections. Di ba nag test man og automation ngadto?
Ang nahitabo kay pagpindot sa machine aron makuha ang total sa votes, na-zero ang usa ka kandidato. Kahibulongan, nganong zero nga daghan man mibutar niya. So mao nga gi-investigate. Nasayran nga walay sayop nga sa machine or sa tawo. Ang sayop kay ang pag-printa sa balota, napingis gamay ang bilog nga hugis itlog mao nga na-count sa usa ang boto sa usa. (See Loong vs. COMELEC)
My point here is, unsaon man na sa COMELEC kung mahitabo na. Mag unsa man ang Mahayagnon kung ang boto ni Lolong muadto kang Ranile, or vice versa? Manual counting? Mosugot kaha ang kaatbang? Dili kaha mahimong taas na sab nga legal battle? Hala ka. Hhehehe
No, I don't intend to alarm you but it may happen. And at least we know if ever it happened. Please lang dili nato awayon ang BEI. Hehehe..
BTW, dili ra man na sa Pilipinas nahitabo, bisan sa Minnesota, USA, naa case nga ingon ana. I forgot the link, wa ko time to retrieve. Basaha na lang ninyo ang Loong vs. COMELEC.

You have good point. Kay dili man kaayo dagko gyod ang font size sa text sa ballot.. para sa tigu-its, masumpay-sumpay gyod na sa ila tan-aw. Usa pa daghan na sab kurog ug kamot. dili matarong ug itom ang bilog na hugis itlog. Maayo tingali naay mura orientation kada purok bahin ani.. pa-praktison ba.. |
