Because of technology, we can access to films through different means. Time will come that movie houses will become extinct.  Decades ago, theaters gave way to movie houses, and now movie houses are threatened to become pieces of history.  We can watch films in the comfort of our homes.

Just like communication, cell phones have killed the telegram industry because of its snail-paced speed of delivery. I remember sending a telegram to my mother telling her that I was going home in s week's time.  My mother did not receive the telegram promptly. It turned out that I arrived ahead of the telegram and was the one receiving it.

So asking the question when would a movie house rise in Mahayag is like asking for the moon.

i totally agree with this... not only that the things we used to do are threatened by the influx of technology. we ourselves have been threatened by it as well. Wink

Yes, that is right. We should still appreciate the simple things in life. Karon, magpadala ug sulat, mag email na. In my time, letter writing jud. That is why it saddens me to think that the art of letter writing is dying. Kinsa sa inyo from Mahayag Central School nakaabot atong pen pal writing with students from elementary schools in the barangays?

Sa una, mag research ko sa library pa abtan pa ug 49 years kinopya kay wala pa photocopier. When my son went to high school, I provided him a complete set of Grolier encyclopedia and reference books. Sad to say that he never appreciated them because he preferred researching on the internet.

Karon when we speak of illiteracy, dili na education, kondili computer/internet illiteracy.
